Though a crucial figure in the Golden Age of Louis XIV, Sainte Colombe remains shrouded in mystery. La Rveuse invites us to rediscover his work in the light of his time, alongside music by Nicolas Hotman, Louis Couperin, Guillaume-Gabriel Nivers and Jean Rousseau: an aesthetic soundscape of 17th-century France, where the art of the viol reached the height of intensity and refinement.
