Released in 2005, Felt 2: A Tribute to Lisa Bonet paired underground hip-hop heavyweights Murs and Slug for a second round of charismatic, razor-sharp collaboration. This time around, their chemistry felt looser and more playful, marked by clever lyricism, engaging storytelling, and an infectious sense of creative freedom. Their verses bounce back and forth with ease, rooted in a shared love of the craft and a mutual instinct for innovation. Each volume of Felt carries its own sonic identity, and Felt 2 thrives on the warmth and versatility of Ants production. Drawing on classic soul, funk, and West Coast influences, the beats create a vibrant foundation that lets both MCs explore new flows and textures without losing cohesion. The result is an album that feels expansive and addictive, yet tightly constructed. Beneath the fun is a thoughtfully crafted record that rewards repeat listens and continues to resonate across generations of hip-hop fans. Felt 2: A Tribute to Lisa Bonet stands as a beloved benchmark in early-2000s indie rapa record that captures two artists in sync and fully tapped into their creative potential.
