NEW VINYL LP ON BALLON RANGE RECORDINGS 2015

180 GRAM VINYL

Norwegian artist Ane Brun has announced her sixth studio album, When I’m Free. Largely written in her Stockholm studio space, When I’m Free has Brun employ new techniques to forge songs that feature more rhythm and brass within the same intimate and warm sound shes always constructed. Whereas 2008s Changing Of The Seasons looked to Bonnie Prince Billys The Letting Go, and 2012s It All Starts With One was inspired by the likes of Ray Lamontagne, Nina Simone and Madonnas Ray Of Light; When I’m Free looks back joyfully to some of the sounds that have shaped Bruns career – including DJ Shadow, Charles Mingus and Lauryn Hill – indicating the versatile musical taste shes displayed since she was a child.
