Breaks & Beats series guru Breakbeat Lou tightens the pressure with ‘Paint It Up Red / Agua Dulce’, the third instal in his zinging 7″ Editz series. Side A sees him rework Doja Cat’s chart-topping ‘Paint The Town Red’, stitching in the Roy Ayers ‘Get Lifted’ sample for a gritty, sun-kissed bounce that nods to golden-era hip-hop and keeps the beat edge razor-sharp. Flip to ‘Agua Dulce’ and Tyla’s viral smash ‘Water’ gets a monsoon showering, though it doesn’t half play club havoc either. Lou’s edits never overstay their welcome, instead keeping things taut and floor-ready.
