Signed, inscribed and dated by Matthiessen on the front endpaper.

Jacket color and title faded, with moderate-to-heavy wear at all extremities, including some loss at spine ends and top edge of rear panel. Now housed in mylar. Book itself has some rubbing at fore corners of boards, dust soiling to top page edges, some foxing at fore edges of pages, as well as to endpapers and pastedowns. Overall VG. Uncommon signed.
