Japan in 1992 was chosen as the last performance location before disbanding. This is the stage for the official album “THREE NIGHTS IN TOKYO”, and the super famous recording that surpasses even the official work has been upgraded and will be preserved forever. What is engraved in this work is August 24, 1992: Nakano Sun Plaza Performance. This is a stereo soundboard recording. Some of you may have already noticed this. Yes, this work is a leaked master of the work that once caused a shock as “RETURN TO FANTASY”. The official edition THREE NIGHTS IN TOKYO was compiled from three days in Tokyo as the title suggests, but this work is a complete version of one day. In order to get an idea of the circumstances surrounding that, let’s look back at the schedule at that time.August 20th: Amagasaki City Cultural Center August 21st: Nagoya Port Hall August 22nd: Shibuya Public Hall August 24th: Nakano Sun Plaza This work August 25th: Nakano Sun Plaza, August 26th: Sendai Civic Center, August 28th: Kanagawa Kenmin Hall, 7 performances in total. In addition to the three days in Tokyo, there were also four local performances, and this work was the fourth performance in the middle. The appearance of the sound board recorded at such a show was truly shocking. At that time, they had already announced their disbandment, and “THREE NIGHTS IN TOKYO” was supposed to be the first official live album and a masterpiece that summed up their history. However, the editing is questionable. Although it is understandable that it featured the “REALIZED FANTASIES” number, which was the mainstay at the time, the famous album “INTUITION” was completely excluded. Even though the famous songs Intuition and Caught Between The Tigers were also played, they were cruelly cut. Although it can’t be helped since the members themselves chose the songs, it was a performance that I can’t regret even if I regret it. More than 10 years have passed since then. In 2003, when the regrets were about to fade away, the leaked soundboard album “RETURN TO FANTASY”, which is the basis of this work, was discovered. The show that became the basis for “THREE NIGHTS IN TOKYO” is completely recorded uncut, and its quality is completely official. There is actually an official version of this show, but it is not defeated at all…or rather, it is almost the same. The official version has some effects applied during the production process to create a sense of scale, but this work uses the sound from the on-site mix table and the core is exposed. This actually enhances the rawness, and it’s actually tighter and cooler than the official version, which has a subtle sense of direction. This work is the highest peak updated version of the master of “RETURN TO FANTASY”. It is a transfer of the original leaked DAT master using the latest technology. The sound is truly the pinnacle. Of course, since it has always been of the highest quality, it is not “completely different”, but the accuracy of the transfer has improved, and the reproducibility has improved. The mid and high tones, which were a little weaker than the bass, now have better extension. It maintains the rawness that has long been said to be “better than the official version,” but a brighter sound has been achieved. What is depicted with such a brilliant line sound is a true full show that could not be enjoyed on the official version THREE NIGHTS IN TOKYO. Let’s organize the sets while comparing them here. 80’s (8 songs) – Nights of the New Thunder: Seven Seas – Tell No Tales: As Far As The Eye Can See / 10,000 Lovers (In One) / Everyone’s A Star – Intuition ( ) / Ordinary Lover () / End of the Line () / Caught Between The Tigers () / Forever Shine On () Realized Fantasies (7 songs + ) / Purple Mountain’s Majesty / Hard to Say Goodbye / Downhill Racer/Easy Street ()/Indian Summer/All You Need ()/Lionheart/Mother Warned Me *Note: Songs marked with “” were not heard in the official release “THREE NIGHTS IN TOKYO”. …and it looks like this. The “REALIZED FANTASIES” songs that were cut on the official edition, such as “Easy Street” and “All You Need,” are also delicious, but what makes me happy above all is the brilliant masterpieces of “INTUITION.” In addition to the wonderful “Intuition” and “Caught Between The Tigers,” there are also “Forever Shine On” (which was not seen in the official video “FOREVER SHINE ON JAPAN LIVE”), as well as “Ordinary Lover”. (End of the Line, which was connected to the previous song on the previous version, is also divided into tracks). Together with the KNIGHTS OF THE NEW THUNDER and TELL NO TALES numbers, you can enjoy TNT that fans want at its potential at the time. This is truly a “famous album that is better than the official version”. This is not just “better than THREE NIGHTS IN TOKYO.” It is a musical work that summarizes the history that has continued since “KNIGHTS OF THE NEW THUNDER”, and the beautiful voice of Tony Harrell and the virtuosity of Ronnie Le Techlo at his peak are directly poured into your brain with a direct sound board. It is also the highest peak. A “extreme masterpiece” that could only survive in the world of collector’s sound sources. Stereo soundboard recording of “August 24, 1992: Nakano Sun Plaza Performance”. This is a direct recording of the show’s mix table, which was also used in the official edition of “THREE NIGHTS IN TOKYO”, and is a DAT master leaked by those involved. The highest quality update achieved by re-transferring the latest technology is not only more vivid than the official version, but also includes a complete collection of famous songs that were previously cut. I am especially moved by the masterpiece “INTUITION” numbers “Intuition”, “Ordinary Lover”, “End of the Line”, “Caught Between The Tigers” and “Forever Shine On”, and it is an absolute masterpiece that easily surpasses the official work.
