2009 album remastered and with six extra tracks. Feat. Julianne Regan, Monica Richards, Evi Vine, Amandine Ferrari, ex-Nephilim bassist Tony Pettitt

Smoke & Mirrors + Other Ghostsmarks the definitive edition of The Eden House’s 2009 debut–remastered and expanded with six additional tracks that deepen its lush, cinematic atmosphere. A true gothic collective, The Eden House draws together an impressive roster of collaborators, including vocalists Julianne Regan (All About Eve), Monica Richards (Faith & the Muse), Evi Vine, and Amandine Ferrari, alongside musicians Steve Carey (Adoration), Tony Pettitt (Fields of the Nephilim), and Bob Loveday (Penguin Cafe Orchestra).

Built on Pettitt’s hypnotic, looping basslines and enveloped in shimmering layers of guitars and violin, the album balances dark romanticism with widescreen elegance. Songs like “To Believe in Something,” “Fire for You,” and “All My Love” evoke the spectral majesty of Cocteau Twins and Portishead, while the intricate arrangements and ethereal harmonies reveal the meticulous craftsmanship of a band working at the edge of gothic, dream pop, and progressive rock traditions. The newly includedOther Ghoststracks–“Freakshow,” “Half-Life,” and the haunting instrumental “Maelstrom”–expand the album’s emotional and sonic range, weaving together spectral textures and trip-hop-inflected rhythm in a soundscape both otherworldly and immersive.

Critics hailedSmoke & Mirrorsas an “impressive selection of lush, female-fronted goth balladry” (Metal Hammer), withRocksoundcalling its opener “a contemporary classic” and praising the record as “an expansive mix of lush melodies and sweeping anthems… a spectacular debut.” This remastered edition enhances its already formidable depth, presenting the definitive vision of The Eden House’s hauntingly beautiful universe–one where darkwave sophistication meets cinematic grandeur.
